CASE STUDIES
Read our case studies below to get a sense of our unique approach and the broad range of projects we have worked on.

ERP System: Chemical Manufacturer InSource Pro worked with a chemicals manufacturer to modernize their ERP system and integrate it with a new online ordering system. We worked with another vendor to create an online catalog with digital search optimizations, and connect it to a real-time inventory management system customized with many features specific to their particular needs. We did a comprehensive evaluation of their antiquated resource management system, that was built to address specifics unique to their industry, but that used a flat filesystem and had very limited capabilities to adapt to an evolving market ecosystem. We restructured the relevant data to accommodate this transition and allow much more useful functionality. We simultaneously worked with the SEO vendor to implement functionality designed to optimize their ranking in search results, resulting in a highly scalable, dynamic system that empowered users to navigate across related chemical stock, identify related compound precursors, address regulatory requirements, and many features uniquely useful within their industry. We formulated a strategy to do a full export of their product data, significant references and relationships between their entire catalog. We connected this enhanced structure to a real-time inventory tracking system, testing and refining the functionality independently while preparing the migration to a live testing environment. We implemented the online ordering system and verified full connectivity, while obtaining user feedback on the new systems. We connected these to their CRM systems, and an internal ordering system based on a combination of weight and purchase volumes from their suppliers. Once the beta system was vetted and the design confirmed, we switched over to the new live ERP system as a single step and synchronized everything.

Digital demo: Cargo Ship Engine Manufacturer An engine manufacturer needed a dynamic tool to visually demonstrate how their engines reduce shipping costs and carbon footprint for customers who ship cargo on the ocean. An interactive ROI calculator for their prospective buyers. In Source Pro worked with the client’s business leaders to identify the important variables which would dictate potential shipping costs and carbon footprint impacts for a projected shipping solution. InSource Pro developed a web interface that enabled the customers’ prospective buyers to input critical data points that would then be calculated and analyzed ‘behind the scenes’ and visually represented online for the buyer to realize the ROI they will experience using the customer's product vs competitors. Vessel type and size Type of cooling system Pressure Energy Costs Shipping Route Key Features of Solution: In 7 clicks or less, the buyer can input a series of complicated & technical variables to simulate their shipping project. The app quickly calculates all of the variables and analyzes the costs / impact. A simple graphical output is the end-result which conveys for the buyer - a simulation of their shipping requirements, estimated annual carbon footprint savings, and estimated annual operational savings when using the customer's product. InSource Pro also coordinated with the client’s IT group to produce The engine manufacturer ran the app on a large Microsoft Surface screen. This screen served as the main display for the show booth. Concurrently, the app ran on 10 separate iPads located in the booth so that customers could calculate their own potential savings and run multiple scenarios. With no additional development effort, the engine manufacturer was able to deploy the app to their web site. For one price, the manufacturer was able to deploy their cost and carbon savings simulator to mobile platforms as well as their web site. The app effectively serves current and potential customers in their preferred technology platform.

Geographic Information System Mapping: University A large University with multiple campus locations needed an app to provide important GIS data to students, faculty, and administration. InSource Pro worked with the client’s business data team to identify the important GIS data points which would be required to serve both academic and administrative projects requiring fast access to GIS data for all campuses. InSource Pro developed an interface that leveraging leveraged layered Google Map data with University data and public GIS data to create a comprehensive resource that can display the following data: -Base Map of all campus infrastructure and planned infrastructure -City map to represent the surrounding urban area -Transportation routing & real-time location with ETAs (campus shuttle, city bus, cars2go) -Street and satellite view of city and campus -Representation of where greens are planted and the type (i.e. trees / plants / flowers) -Indicators for parking capacity in the campus parking garages Customers can turn on layers within the display to see data in any combination to meet their individual needs. Specific data can be obtained by clicking on an individual building or drawing a shape on the map to collect data for a specific geographic area. There are search capabilities to search by text to locate specific landmarks. There is also capability to download specific GIS data from the map to support additional projects and research. The University currently deploys this tool through their web site to facilitate delivery of GIS data for both administrative and academic purposes. Additional secure data is available for University resources which is not available for general public usage. GIS data updated by individual departments, campuses, administrators, and/or researchers is dynamically updated so that the customer is always seeing the most current GIS data. Customers have only one source to check and data maintenance occurs by the owner of the data, but is available to all to see with only one update. With no additional development effort, the University could deploy the web content as a mobile application which would allow customers to use the data in their preferred method.

Web Development: Public Health Organization A non-profit public health organization needed a site to raise awareness for their anti-tobacco cause. The site needed to explain the purpose of the organization and recruit students and volunteers to participate in the anti-tobacco efforts. InSource Pro met with the client to understand the key business goals of the organization. A site design was generated that was attractive to teenage users as well as adults. The organization needed to encourage participation from this multi-generational audience in order to increase participation and expansion of the program throughout the state. The site provides a data source for the client that includes: -Participant registration information and form -Adult volunteer registration information and form -Event calendar to record and display events -Embedded video of organization events -Coordination with You Tube, Facebook, and Twitter social platforms -Online store -Secure login and individual account management The organization has a web presence that works effectively on both mobile and desktop platforms and in all major browsers. Prospective members, adult volunteers, and those interested in their anti-tobacco programs can use all functionality of the site on whichever platform that they prefer. The organization has an easy to maintain presence which requires little administrative effort on their part. Databases are able to record volunteer and participant information and easily create email and customer listings to drive engagement with their participants and volunteers.
